Trustees are please to award a grant for 2019 supporting the work of a small team of children’s hospice at home nurses employed by Rennie Grove Hospice Care. The children’s nurses work across the Chilterns area of Buckinghamshire and North West Hertfordshire caring for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses in their own homes.
We are pleased to award a grant for 2019 that will enable OK Music Therapy, to provide individual music therapy, with a fully qualified music therapist, for 4 children aged 5-14 with special needs. The aim is to enhance the children’s personal, musical and social education by helping them to develop listening and communication skills, concentration, learn to take turns and develop their creativity.
Trustees are pleased to award a grant towards the costs of continuing to offer free training to health and education professionals in therapeutic bereavement counselling, aimed at children and young people up to the age of 17 years (inclusive) living in Norfolk, who have experienced the death of a significant person.
Trustees are pleased to award a grant for 2019 for work as puppeteers for a project, designed for children and young people in hospital who are at the start of their transition journey from children services to adult services and are seriously ill at GOSH. It will be designed for children as young as 11 or 12.
Trustees are pleased to award a grant for 2019 to be used to fund a Relaxed Performance for children and young people with complex learning disabilities and additional communication needs. The performance will be given in the new Education Centre, Hallé St Peters and Halle will work in partnership with the Seashell Trust (also a JHCT grant recipient) and the Able Orchestra to plan the performances, train musicians and evaluate the impact of the programme.
